Sting made his big WWE debut this year at WrestleMania 31. But quite a few people found the debut to be controversial because Triple H beat Sting in his first WWE match. Ric Flair and Steve Austin discussed the matter on a recent episode of Ric Flair’s podcast and they both agreed that Sting should have won.
“I thought, ‘man, you bring Sting in here and you beat him?’ Man, do something where it looks like you’re going to do the screwjob, but then something happens and Sting]goes over on Triple H, who we all love. If you’re going to bring Sting in, put him over.” Austin said.
Flair followed up by saying:
“I didn’t like that, myself.”
