“Arrow” star Stephen Amell is no stranger to the world of professional wrestling, as he made his in-ring debut at SummerSlam in 2015 when he teamed up with Neville to defeat the team of Stardust and King Barrett.

Amell also stepped into the ring once again when he faced Christopher Daniels at All In last September.

“Arrow” is going into its final season and now Amell has revealed that he will be diving into the world of professional wrestling once again as he’s set to star in the wrestling themed drama series “Heels” which will air on Starz.

The series is set in a close-knit Georgia community and focuses on a family owned wrestling promotion and two rival brothers clashing over their father’s legacy.

Stephen Amell will play Jack Spade. According to Deadline, Spade is described as, “the charismatic villain, or heel, of the Duffy Wrestling Association (DWA). In the real world, he’s its hard-working owner, a husband and father trying to make ends meet while fighting to realize his impossible dreams. He has the mind of an artist in the body of a warrior, and a Steve Jobs-ian need for perfection — and for control. He says he’ll do whatever it takes to build the DWA into an empire.”

The series is written by Written by Michael Waldron (Community), with Mike O’Malley (Survivor’s Remorse) working as the showrunner.

“Heels” was originally brought to Starz in 2017 and has now been given the green light for a 10 episode series.

Back in 2017 PWInsider reported that CM Punk tested for the role of Jack Spade, but ultimately it looks like it’s Amell who will bring the character to the small screen.
