Stephanie McMahon Says That There Is No Place In WWE For Sexualization

Stephanie McMahon has been the pioneer of the Women’s Revolution that has taken place over the past few years and seen some history-making female matches.

Not only have many attitudes towards women’s wrestling and WWE itself changed over the past few years, but Stephanie herself has stated that there is now no place in WWE for sexualization. The former Women’s’ Champion spoke to Sky Sports on WWE’s recent tour of the UK and Ireland about how many of their superstars are perceived:

“Our men and women have to wear spandex-type clothing because what they do in the ring is actually quite dangerous. If you had a lot of loose clothing then it could be a problem in the ring.”

“This is athletics, this is sports, this is like live action theatre and there’s no denying the athleticism of our women in the ring and what they can do.”

WWE has changed a lot in recent years, but the biggest change has to be in the Women’s Division, something that Stephanie highlighted herself.

“I think WWE is a part of the movement. What you’re seeing is the audience and the audience is clamouring to see women in more roles whether that be it in athletics or in business. Women bring a lot to the table and it’s about time that’s recognised.”
