The wrestling landscape has changed drastically over the last few months thanks to the emergence of AEW, and it’s clear that the company is on WWE’s radar.
According to F4Wonline.com, WWE held a talent meeting prior to Money In The Bank which was headed by Stephanie McMahon.
The report notes that it was the same “rah-rah type speech” they do from time to time, but one notable thing from the meeting is that AEW was directly addressed as WWE’s competition.
The WWE brand was reportedly pushed hard, and it was noted that they are having to compete with video games, movies, streaming services and AEW.
It was also noted that at no time has a competing wrestling company ever been mentioned during these type of speeches.
AEW Double Or Nothing is set to take place on Saturday, May 25 from Las Vegas, and it was recently announced that All Elite Wrestling will air weekly in prime time on TNT at some point this year.
