Spoilers For Tribute To The Troops 2017 Special

The 15th annual Tribute To The Troops special brought a star-studded show to the San Diego Naval Base. This event was something special which included Lillian Garcia singing the National Anthem and special appearances from Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon, Triple H, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Sgt Slaughter, JBL, and Mark Henry.

JBL said when he resigned from his commentary role for SmackDown Live that he would still be taking part in the Tribute To The Troops shows and it looks like he certainly followed up on that promise. After all, JBL really loves the troops and has a special place in his heart for this show.

Another feature of the show included a performance from Machinegun Kelly which is always fun to see even if he’s not taking a sick powerbomb from Kevin Owens in the process.

This mixed-brand show didn’t feature any Red vs Blue Team matches, but they did share the same card. One highlight for many fans in attendance was having Paige, Sonya Deville, and Many Rose show up to show Bayley, Sasha Banks, and Mickie James what Absolution is all about.

The main event of the night is likely going to put the two main event attractions of the upcoming Clash Of Champions pay-per-view event against each other. Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Jinder Mahal formed an unlikely team against AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and Shinsuke Nakamura to close out the show.

Although the card could be switched around during the editing process, here are the matches that entertained the crowd of US Armed Forces personnel in San Diego for the 15th edition of Tribute To The Troops.

  • The Shield defeated Sheamus, Cesaro, and Samoa Joe
  • Absolution defeated Bayley, Sasha Banks, and Mickie James
  • Charlotte Flair defeated Ruby Riott via the Figure 8
  • The New Day and The Usos defeated Rusev, Aiden English, Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable
  • AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Jinder Mahal

With Michael Cole and Byron Saxton on commentary, this show certainly seemed like a big one that everyone in attendance thoroughly enjoyed.
