SPOILERS: Impact Wrestling Results For 1/26/17 – Big Title Change

Impact Wrestling is in the midst of airing programming which was filmed during their latest taping binge earlier this month. There is still no word on the Impact futures of The Broken Hardys or Drew Galloway, but this episode shows no signs of any possible separation from these top performers and their Nashville based home just yet.

The show starts off with Drew Galloway recapping his injury and saying that he is intended to have a greater purpose. I think that fans would agree considering that he was introduced to WWE audiences by Vince McMahon himself calling Drew “The Chosen One.”

Galloway says that he could have been Impact Wrestling Champion, but wanted to make the Grand Championship something that it wasn’t before: special. He continues his promo by sending out an open invitation for his Grand Championship, which is never a good idea especially considering the fact that Moose accepts his challenge. Although he is a more than worthy competitor, Moose loses this open invitation for the Grand Championship in the opening contest.

The second segment of the night features the Broken Hardys as they talk about wanting all the gold on the planet. The promo hyping up their Expedition of Gold continues until DCC (James Storm, Bram, and Kingston) comes out to state that they don’t want to wait another week to have their Impact Wrestling Tag Team Championship match. In the midst of their verbal aggression, DCC are interrupted by Decay (Abyss, Crazzy Steve, and Rosemary).

Decay talks some smack to DCC and The Broken Hardys until a brawl erupts between all three teams. A triple threat tag team match for the Impact Wrestling Tag Championships is announced to be up next. The result of said triple threat match sees The Hardys successfully defend their Impact tag team titles against DCC and Decay.

Up next, Rosemary defends her women’s title in a Monster’s Ball match against Jade. Reports are that this match has some pretty nice spots and the two women look like they really try to hurt each other here. Rosemary triumphs over Jade in the end to keep her Knockouts Championship. During the aftermath of the match, Gail Kim comes to the ring to check on Jade, but is hit by the mist from Rosemary.

The main event of the night sees Eddie Edwards defend his Impact Wrestling World Championship against Bobby Lashley in a 30-minute iron-man match. The match goes the distance with Bobby Lashley winning 3 falls to 2. Impact Wrestling closes this week with Bobby Lashley celebrating the beginning of his fourth TNA World Title run.
