WrestleMania season has come and gone, and this year fans saw some big names return such as Trish Stratus and Lita. On the Raw after WrestleMania, Matt Riddle made his return to TV and it looks like a SmackDown star will be making their way back to television soon.
PWInsider Elite reports that Shinsuke Nakamura is expected to return to Friday Night SmackDown over the next few weeks. It was noted that Nakamura’s return could happen as soon as next week’s episode of SmackDown.
Shinsuke Nakamura hasn’t wrestled a televised match for WWE since November of last year, and it was recently reported that creative plans were on hold for the former Intercontinental Champion.
Even though Shinsuke Nakamura hasn’t appeared on WWE TV in recent months he did face off against The Great Muta at Pro Wrestling NOAH’s event on New Year’s Day back in January. The match was part of The Great Muta’s retirement tour and Shinsuke Nakamura ended up picking up the win. There’s currently no word on what WWE has planned for Shinsuke Nakamura when he does return to TV. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
