WWE has managed to keep going through the coronavirus pandemic, but a number of top talents have been absent from TV tapings as of late.
AJ Styles hasn’t appeared on WWE programming since he was buried alive by The Undertaker in the first ever Boneyard Match, but it was recently reported that Styles will be returning on Raw tonight.
On the Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast Dave Meltzer noted that WWE originally wanted to keep AJ out longer, but the company is bringing him back early due to declining ratings.
There’s also speculation that AJ Styles could be working as a babyface now that Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows have been released.
However, a face turn has not been confirmed, as the current WWE Champion is a face, and the Raw brand is lacking big name heels at the moment.
The expectation is that Styles is returning tonight to set up his role for Money in the Bank, and he could end up in the men’s ladder match.
