Claudio Castagnoli has been on a roll since he joined All Elite Wrestling back in June, and last month he captured the ROH World Championship for the first time in his career when he defeated Jonathan Gresham at the ROH Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view.
Following AEW Dynamite last night the company taped this week’s episode of Rampage and Claudio Castagnoli came out with ROH Pure Champion and fellow Blackpool Combat Club member Wheeler Yuta.
According to PWInsider, Castagnoli said that it was great to be out in front of the crowd as ROH World Champion, and in front of someone who trained him like Ricky Steamboat. Claudio Castagnoli then issued an open challenge for the ROH World Championship next week, and it was Dustin Rhodes who answered the call.
AEW programming is set to feature two big title matches next week as AEW World Champion CM Punk is set to face interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley in a unification match on Dynamite, and Claudio Castagnoli will defend his ROH World Championship against Dustin Rhodes on Rampage.
