Next month the first ever two night WWE SummerSlam will emanate from MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and the card has been coming together in recent weeks. Some huge title matches have been confirmed for SummerSlam, and it looks like another big match is in the works.
Cory Hays of PWN is reporting that there will be an angle tonight on SmackDown that will set up a Solo Sikoa vs. Jacob Fatu match for the United States Championship at SummerSlam. According to the report the title bout will be a steel cage match. WrestleVotes is also reporting that Solo Sikoa vs. Jacob Fatu for the United States Championship is the plan for SummerSlam.
Jacob Fatu managed to win the United States Championship for the first time in his career when he defeated LA Knight at WrestleMania 41. Unfortunately for Fatu his reign came to an end last month when Solo Sikoa defeated him at Night of Champions after Tonga Loa and Talla Tonga interfered.
WWE SummerSlam will air live from MetLife Stadium on Saturday, August 2nd and Sunday, August 3rd and the current card can be seen below.
