With all of the free agents currently working in the world of professional wrestling there’s no telling who might show up in AEW. Fans have seen some interesting names work with AEW over the last few years and now it looks like a former WWE star will be appearing on AEW programming in the not too distant future.
This week AEW taped matches for AEW Dark: Elevation in Albany, NY and PWInsider is reporting that Mascara Dorada (formerly known as Gran Metallik) made his debut. Mascara Dorada reportedly defeated Serpentico after he put him away with a superkick followed by the Dorada Driver.
Mascara Dorada first joined WWE as part of the cruiserweight division in 2016 and he went on to join the Lucha House Party stable in 2018. In September of 2021 it was reported that he requested his release and his release request was later granted in November of that same year.
