There’s a lot of anticipation heading into SmackDown this week as the show is set to expand to three hours tonight. Fans are expecting SmackDown to be big tonight and a former WWE Champion has been spotted backstage ahead of the show.
PWInsider is reporting that Drew McIntyre is backstage at SmackDown in Phoenix, Arizona. The belief is that Drew McIntyre will be appearing on this week’s episode of SmackDown. There’s currently no word on what WWE has planned for him tonight.
According to the report the word making the rounds over the last few weeks is that McIntyre is expected to move from Raw to SmackDown as WWE reshuffles the roster. At this point in time it hasn’t been confirmed that the move is official, but it has been a topic of discussion recently at Raw and SmackDown tapings.
Earlier today General Manager Nick Aldis confirmed that Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga will be facing off against The Usos and Sami Zayn in a six man tag team match on SmackDown. Nia Jax will be defending her WWE Women’s Championship against Naomi, and Shinsuke Nakamura is set to face Andrade in a non-title match.
