WrestleMania season is right around the corner, and you never know might make a WWE return in the weeks to come. Unfortunately former SmackDown Tag Team Champion Xavier Woods suffered a knee injury during a recent WWE live event, but it looks like he’ll be returning sooner than later.
PWInsider is reporting that Xavier Woods is expected to return to the road at the SmackDown tapings in Kansas City on Friday. Woods is expected to be back on the road regularly moving forward, but there’s currently no word on if he’s been cleared to return to the ring.
On 1/13 during a G4 live stream of Attack of The Show Xavier Woods confirmed that he suffered an injury to his plantaris muscle of his calf. Woods also noted that he expected to be ready for in-ring competition in 4 to 6 weeks which means he likely won’t be entering the men’s Royal Rumble match.
As far as the rest of The New Day is concerned WWE is currently advertising Big E & Kofi Kingston vs. Madcap Moss & Happy Corbin for this week’s episode of SmackDown. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
