smackdown

It was recently announced that Jinder Mahal would be defending the WWE Championship against AJ Styles on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, and many fans suspected that a title change would take place, and well, that’s exactly what happened. According to fans in attendance, AJ Styles beat Jinder Mahal with the Phenomenal Forearm, and he is the new WWE Champion.

The title change also means a big change for Survivor Series, as AJ Styles will go on to face Brock Lesnar instead of Jinder Mahal.

AJ Styles is now a two time WWE Champion.

WWE.com also confirmed the title change and noted that this is the first title the WWE Championship has changed hands outside of North America.
