The stars of NXT stepped into the spotlight on Saturday for NXT TakeOver: Phoenix, and when it was all said and done NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa stood side by side with NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano as they held up their belts.
Unfortunately for Ciampa and Gargano, only one of them is still a champion following the NXT tapings that took place on Wednesday night.
Velveteen Dream challenged Johnny Gargano for the NXT North American Title at the tapings, and it was Dream who walked out with the gold.
According to fans in attendance, after the match Gargano beat Dream down and then stole the belt.
