Jinder Mahal is the current WWE Champion, and at Money in the Bank, Randy Orton attempted to win the title back in the main event. Orton failed to win the belt, and so far throughout his rivalry with Jinder Mahal, the Singh Brothers have proved to be a thorn in Randy Orton’s side.
The Singh Brothers have certainly proved to be valuable to Jinder Mahal’s title reign, but next time Mahal defends his title against Randy Orton it doesn’t look like they’ll be a factor. PWInsider is reporting that WWE currently has plans to bring back the Punjabi Prison match for the Battleground pay-per-view in July.
According to the report, WWE officials have been discussing possibly using the Punjabi Prison over the past month or so, and it was recently taken from the company warehouse so that it can be cleaned and prepared for use at the event.
The Punjabi Prison match has only been used twice in WWE and it’s been 10 years since the last time the structure was used. The match consists of two cages both made out of bamboo. The inner cage has four walls with a door on each side, and once one of the participants in the match requests that the cage be opened, the referee opens it for 60 seconds.
If the wrestlers in the match are not able to make it our of the one of the four doors within the time limit they must then climb over the first cage. The only way to escape the second cage is to climb over it and the first person to have both feet touch the floor wins.
