SmackDown Live will present Backlash on Sunday September 11th, and it will be the first brand exclusive pay-per-view since the brand split went into effect in July.
Local advertisements for the show seem to have spoiled one of the big matches on the card as Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt is being advertised for the show. Wyatt and Randy Orton had a confrontation on SmackDown last week, and it seemed like a given that a match would be booked for Backlash, but as of right now WWE has yet to make any official announcements.
Other matches booked for the show as of right include a WWE World Championship match which will feature Dean Ambrose defending against AJ Styles. The first SmackDown Tag Team Champions will also be crowned as a tag team tournament is set to culminate at Backlash.
The new SmackDown Women’s Title will also be on the line in a six pack challenge match. You can check out a promo video for the match below.
