Speculation On Why Vince McMahon Didn’t Let Samoa Joe Win The WWE Championship

Samoa Joe’s resume speaks for itself as he’s managed to achieve success in several different notable promotions. Fans were excited when Samoa Joe finally signed with WWE and during his run with the company he managed to become a three time NXT Champion and a one time United States Champion.

Unfortunately for Samoa Joe he didn’t win the WWE Championship or Universal Championship despite the fact that he challenged for both titles. Road Dogg recently talked about Samoa Joe’s run with WWE on his Oh You Didn’t Know podcast, and he speculated that Vince McMahon didn’t give Joe a big title run because he wasn’t a babyface.

“Vince is a babyface champion guy, and I get that from a promotional standpoint, you’re not going to promote JBL, you’re going to promote Cena. I don’t know, I just feel like maybe that had something to do with it.”

Despite the fact that Samoa Joe didn’t win the WWE Championship, Road Dogg insisted that Vince McMahon and Triple H were both high on the Samoa Submission Machine.

“I know Vince was high on him and I know Hunter was high on him. It just makes me think there was something medical that wasn’t out there or something that was a reason he went away and came back, I don’t know the answer to that. He went pretty high, he just didn’t win the title, you know what I mean?”

Do you think Vince McMahon should have let Samoa Joe win the WWE Championship? Sound off in the comments below.
