Shane McMahon entered the men’s Royal Rumble match in 2022 and then he quietly disappeared from WWE programming. There was no sign of a Shane McMahon return in the months leading up to WrestleMania 39, but the former European Champion shocked everyone when he showed up at SoFi Stadium ready for an impromptu match with The Miz.
Unfortunately for Shane McMahon the match didn’t last very long as he tore his quad and had to exit the ring. Snoop Dogg then stepped in and defeated The Miz with the People’s Elbow.
Even though Shane McMahon’s return didn’t go as expected former WWE referee Mike Chioda recently noted on Monday Mailbag that he expects Shane to get back in the ring at some point.
“Shane O’Mac will be back in that ring, brother. He’s working out hard right now. He’s gonna be back. I wish him a speedy recovery. I felt bad and I (saw) he couldn’t get back up. I said, ‘No, this is not a work.’ He wouldn’t come back and… I just wish him a speedy recovery and all of the best.”
