Sonya Deville has been a WWE Superstar for years now, but it was reported last week that the company informed Deville they would not be renewing her contract when the deal expires. Deville will be a free agent once her deal is up and the belief is that it will be up in a few weeks.
As of right now it’s not clear what Sonya Deville has planned for the future, but she seems to be teasing that we haven’t seen the last of as Deville recently posted the following on X:
“…. See what’s next”

The former WWE star’s new bio on X was also updated and now reads as follows:
“To be continued …”
Back in 2015, Sonya Deville first started working with WWE when she appeared as a contestant on Tough Enough season 6. She went on to sign a contract with the company then joined the NXT brand.
In November of 2017, Sonya was called up to the main roster alongside Mandy Rose and they formed an alliance with Paige which led to the creation of a stable name Absolution. In 2021, Deville took on the role of an authority figure for a few months before returning to active competition.
Throughout her run with WWE, Sonya Deville managed to capture championship gold one time when she won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Chelsea Green. Unfortunately Deville had to take time off due to injury, so Piper Niven teamed up with Chelsea Green to continue the title reign. When Sonya returned from injury she formed an alliance with Zoey Stark and Shayna Bazsler. They collectively became known as Pure Fusion Collective.
Sonya Deville wasn’t the only wrestler who got let go recently as WWE also released a number of other Superstars. More details on who was released and why are available here.
Stay tuned for more updates on WWE releases as they become available.
