Someone In WWE Pitched Daniel Bryan To Win The Royal Rumble Match

The idea of Daniel Bryan winning the Men’s Royal Rumble this year is certainly an interesting one, especially since he isn’t cleared to wrestle. In fact, he might not be cleared to wrestle ever again for WWE. This news is not only sad, but it is equally frustrating.

But apparently, there are some who think Daniel Bryan could go on to win the 2018 Men’s Royal Rumble even though he’s not an active competitor. Bryan is currently the SmackDown Live General Manager and has said he will be leaving WWE if he’s not cleared to compete by WrestleMania.

So, if Daniel Bryan isn’t cleared to compete, then why would he suddenly become one of the favorites to win the big over the top rope match this year? To be fair, Shinsuke Nakamura is still overall the most likely to win at this point but Daniel Bryan’s odds are especially noteworthy.

Bryan Alvarez spoke about Daniel Bryan’s sudden jump from 1/60 odds to 1/9 on Wrestling Observer Live, “here’s what I can tell you, it’s all I can tell you, okay? Because, if Daniel Bryan is going to win the Rumble they’re gonna try and keep it as secret as possible but here’s what I can tell you. Clearly, and I don’t know what it is but clearly, someone had some sort of idea that involved Daniel Bryan winning the Royal Rumble.”

“Obviously, word got out and some people in the company placed bets. But, as of right now as of this moment Daniel Bryan is not cleared. The situation has not changed one single solitary bit with Daniel Bryan. He is not cleared. I guess they could find some way for him to win the Royal Rumble but I’ll just flat out say, I don’t think Daniel Bryan’s winning the Royal Rumble.”

This could become a bittersweet moment for those expecting to see Daniel Bryan return to the ring only to see Shinsuke Nakamura take home the victory. But odds are always changing and with this kind of a shift, there could have certainly been some kind of talk about The Bearded GOAT coming out on top in Philly.
