Delirious Had A Gun Pulled On Him During An “I Quit” Match

I Quit matches can be some of the most intense confrontations in pro wrestling. You have to beat your opponent within an inch of their life to the point where they can’t carry on any longer. You have to literally make them say “I quit” (or at least play audio over the PA of them saying “I quit” from an interview segment earlier in the night).

Indie wrestler Delirious recently found himself in an “I Quit” match in the San Diego based FIST promotion that went a little over the top. In the latest issue of The Observer it is noted that Delirious, who is also a booker in Ring Of Honor wrestled Dirty Ron McDonald (Ron better be short for Ronald) and the encounter was a little bit PG-13 to say the least.

During the match McDonald said he had taken some acid beforehand and planned to get Delirious to say “I quit” by messing with him mentally. That is something you’ll never hear someone say in WWE, well the messing with them mentally part might happen but that part about dropping acid will never make it on air.

During the closing moments of the match, Ron McDonald sang an acid-inspired song and asked Delirious to if he wanted to quit. “I kinda do” Delirious replied. We probably would too.

Then to make matters worse (or more hilarious) Dirty Ron McDonald started rapping when a character named Officer Chip Law came down and pulled a gun on him. McDonald was able to get the gun from Officer Chip Law and ended up putting it to Delirious’ head.

With a gun to his head Delirious said “I quit” and rightfully so.

This is by far the most creative way we’ve ever heard of someone winning an “I Quit’ match or any match for that matter. Kudos to the guys at FIST for pulling off something we’ve never seen before. Let’s just hope they don’t do it again because an angle like that could have some very real consequences.
