Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey made history when they main evented WrestleMania 35, but in the end it was Becky who walked out with both the Raw Women’s Championship and the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Ronda Rousey took some time away from WWE following the big main event, but she made her return back in January at the Royal Rumble, and she managed to earn a title shot when she won the women’s Royal Rumble match. Rousey made it clear that she wanted to challenge Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the Grandest Stage of Them All, and on Saturday night they finally clashed.
The match ended in controversy as Ronda Rousey hit the Piper’s Pit, and pinned Charlotte for a three count, but the ref called it off after he saw that Charlotte’s foot was on the ropes. Charlotte Flair then went for a spear on Rousey, but she hit the ref instead.
Ronda Rousey followed up with an armbar on Charlotte, and Charlotte tapped out, but the ref was incapicated so he didn’t see it. Charlotte then hit a big boot on Ronda to win the match.
What a #WrestleMania moment for @MsCharlotteWWE! 👏👏👏
