John Cena hasn’t appeared on WWE programming since he teamed up with Nikki Bella to defeat The Miz and Maryse at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, FL. After the match Cena and Nikki walked off into the sunset, but soon Cena will be making his return to SmackDown Live. WWE confirmed tonight that John Cena will be returning to the blue brand on Tuesday, July 4th.
Speaking of returns, this week on WWE SmackDown Live, Lana returned and attempted to enter the first ever women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Shane McMahon denied her request, so she later got involved in a six person tag team match when she attacked Naomi to help the Welcoming Committee win.
Naomi later confronted SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon and demanded that he book her in a match with Lana at Money in the Bank. Naomi agreed to put the title on the line and Shane made the match official.
