The SmackDown Live women’s division has been heating up over the past few months, and Carmella recently became the first ever Miss Money In The Bank. Carmella is now carrying around a guaranteed title shot, and the rest of the division has been trying to figure out who will be the next challenger for Naomi’s SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Shane McMahon recently announced that Natalya, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Lana and Tamina Snuke would all face off in a fatal 5-way elimination match at Battleground, and on Sunday night they went to war.
Naomi made her way down to the ringside area and joined the commentary team before the match started, and then the competitors made their way down to the ring.
Tamina was the first to go after Becky Lynch made her tap out to the Dis-Arm-Her, and then Becky followed up by making Lana tap out to the same move. Natalya moved in and rolled Becky Lynch up then pulled on her tights to take out the Irish Lasskicker. Charlotte tried to put Natalya away with a boot to the face, but Natalya kicked out.
In the end it was Natalya who won the match. Charlotte went for a top rope moonsault, but Natalya put her knees up to stop her. Natalya then rolled Charlotte up, and slammed her head into the bottom turnbuckle. Then she dragged Charlotte’s limp body away from the ropes and scored the pin.
Natalya will now go on to face Naomi for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam next month. As of this writing it is the only match that’s been made official for the pay-per-view.
