SmackDown Live presented their final show ahead of this weekend’s Survivor Series event last night and it seems that WWE’s creative team are already planting seeds when it comes to storylines heading into next month’s SmackDown exclusive Clash of Champions pay-per-view.
Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon haven’t been on the same page since the SmackDown Commissioner put Raw under siege last month without consulting the General Manager, which led to him going to Raw to help straighten things out and being attacked by his former tag team partner, Kane.
Bryan returned to SmackDown Live last night for the first time since the attack and opened the show by congratulating AJ Styles on his WWE Championship win last week in Manchester. Bryan then went on to parody Paul Heyman by delivering an advocate inspired speech for Styles heading into his match with Brock this weekend.
Bryan was later seen backstage with Shane McMahon where he was discussing the importance of cohesion when it comes to Survivor Series, something that Bryan said that he would discuss with his boss following the event next week.
It seems that Bryan blames Shane for the fact that he wasn’t consulted when it came to the Raw invasion that then led to his attack. Bryan and Shane don’t seem to be on the same page anymore and when Shane tried to explain this to Bryan he cut him off and told him he would see him at Survivor Series.
Bryan left the building before Raw invaded SmackDown last night, which means that he didn’t become part of the attack, but judging by the way he behaved backstage the former World Champion seems to be hinting that a heel turn could be a refreshing change of pace for his character and it would definitely spice things up on SmackDown ahead of the final pay-per-view of the year.
