Tonight the Clash of Champions pay-per-view is set to air live on the WWE Network, but there seems to be some uncertainty regarding the SmackDown Women’s Title match.
Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that he’s putting an asterisk on the Bayley vs. Nikki Cross match at Clash of Champions, due to backstage rumors regarding Nikki.
Nikki Cross did not appear on SmackDown this week, and Dave Meltzer noted that she wasn’t backstage.
Meltzer went on to say that on Saturday he asked if Nikki Cross would be at the pay-per-view, and nobody got back to him. “Which is your answer,” he added.
At this point it’s not clear exactly why WWE officials would want to pull her from the event, but it’s worth noting that WWE released a statement confirming that some talents are quarantining due to a COVID-19 outbreak.
