Shinsuke Nakamura Wins The 2018 WWE Men’s Royal Rumble Match

The Royal Rumble is without a doubt one of the most exciting wrestling pay-per-views of the year, as wrestling fans can usually count on the Royal Rumble match to deliver.

This year’s pay-per-view featured the historic first ever women’s Royal Rumble match, and the men also went to war in their annual Rumble match.

Prior to the match, it was announced that both Royal Rumble winners would be able to challenge the champion of their choosing, meaning they could challenge a star from a different brand.

The main card for the Royal Rumble kicked off with the WWE Championship match, followed by the SmackDown Tag Team Title match, and the 30 man Rumble match ended up being the third match on the card this year.

Jerry “The King” Lawler made his way down to ringside to join the commentary team, and then Aiden English introduced Rusev who entered the match at number 1 to a huge pop from the crowd. Finn Balor entered the match at number 2 and then the action kicked off.

The final 6 came down to Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, Rey Mysterio, John Cena and Randy Orton.

Reigns eliminated Randy Orton, then Finn Balor eliminated Rey Mysterio and it came down to Cena, Nakamura, Reigns and Balor.

The crowd was firmly behind Nakamura as the final four stood in the ring and faced off.

Finn Balor was eliminated by John Cena, and it came down to Reigns, Cena and Nakamura.

The crowd continued to support Nakamura.

Roman Reigns went for the spear, but Cena countered with an Attitude Adjustment, then Nakamura went after Cena. As Cena tried to suplex Nakamura over the top, Nakamura managed to reverse it and get Cena on the outside. Nakamura then knocked Cena off the apron and it came down to Shinsuke and Roman Reigns.

After battling back and forth for a few minutes, Shinsuke went for the Kinshasa, but Roman countered with a spear.

Roman tried to throw Shinsuke off the top, but Shinsuke held on. Nakamura then landed the Kinshasa, and threw Roman over the top.

After the match Renee Young asked Shinsuke who he wants to face at WrestleMania, and the crowd chanted for AJ Styles.

Nakamura then said “AJ Styles” to a huge pop from the fans and then he pointed at the WrestleMania sign.
