WrestleMania is just around the corner and WWE’s top stars, as well as their part-time stars, will be trying their best to steal the show on the grandest stage of them all. The stars of NXT will get their chance to shine the night before at Takeover: Orlando, and although Shinsuke Nakamura will be featured in one of the top matches on the card, he’s got WrestleMania on his mind.
Shinsuke Nakamura recently spoke to the Orlando Sentinel and he made it very clear that performing at WrestleMania is his big goal.
“I hope. I hope. I want to go to the next [level],” Nakamura said finally. “If I can wrestle at WrestleMania, that’s going to be awesome. I… really… want… WrestleMania.”
Before he signed with WWE and made his debut at NXT Takeover: San Antonio last year, Shinsuke Nakamura was one of the most popular wrestlers in Japan. Nakamura also confirmed that the possibility of performing at WrestleMania was one of the big reasons why he signed with WWE.
Many fans are hoping to see Shinsuke Nakamura get called up to the main roster at some point, and quite a few would argue that he should already be on the main roster. One of the best things about NXT however is how the brand mixes established stars with up and comers and Nakamura sees the value in helping the stars of tomorrow develop.
“I already have a lot of experience,” Nakamura said. “I’m not somebody green in developmental, so NXT is something interesting where the experienced people and the young people mix. We can teach them, and they can learn from us. [Teaching them] is always good stimulation for me.”
