Why The Shield Reunion Is Happening At WWE TLC

In a few weeks the stars of the Monday Night Raw roster will attempt to settle their differences inside the ring at the annual TLC pay-per-view. The pay-per-view is always fun due to the ridiculous amount of tables, ladders and chairs that are used, but this year’s show should be extra special because over the past few weeks it’s been teased that The Shield will be reuniting at the big event.

Fans have wanted to see a Shield reunion for a long time now, but some are wondering why WWE would have the group reunite at TLC instead of one of the bigger pay-per-view events. It was recently reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the reason why The Shield is reuniting at TLC is because WWE officials were concerned that without John Cena and Brock Lesnar being booked for the show there wouldn’t be a top draw for TLC.

That’s why WWE officials are currently building the event around the popular trio.

We’re only a few weeks away from the big event, and even though the match hasn’t officially been booked yet, hints have been dropped on WWE programming in regards to who the group could be facing.

Last week on Raw, The Miz aligned himself with Cesaro and Sheamus when they attacked Roman Reigns, so they look like likely candidates to face The Hounds of Justice. It’s also been rumored that Braun Strowman could be added to the match as well.
