WWE’s overseas tour brought them to India and the crowd in Dehli were more than excited to see some of their favorite WWE Superstars tangle in the ring. The building wasn’t a complete sell-out but plenty of pumped Indian fans were still ready for this highly publicized show that was teased for nearly an entire year.
Roman Reigns is huge in India which should really be no surprise. The Shield took on The Bar and Samoa Joe to close out the first part of the show before intermission in a contest where everyone was over but of course, The Big Dog was the most popular by far.
Reports from the live show said The Big Dog might have sat on the apron for a good portion of the match but once he got the tag it was the pop of the night. Once Roman was in the match, it was all business and Reigns toppled everyone in front of him. Cesaro soon took The Shield’s Triple Powerbomb and closed out the match with The Hounds Of Justice winning in India.
But there was a spot in the middle of the match that really caught everyone’s attention. Seth Rollins performed a Hulk Hogan legdrop and if people were confused if it was Hogan’s finishing move or not, The Architect removed all doubt when he popped up and did the rolling ear pop taunt to get a roar from the crowd.
Dean Ambrose also pulled off a Hulk Hogan pose and flex as well. Reports were this spot was super over and hopefully, a sign of more Hogan-related things to come. After all, it could only be a matter of time before WWE relaxes on their stance of shutting Hulk Hogan out of the history books.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently said they were batting around the idea of a Hogan return backstage, but there is still a little bit of trepidation to do so just yet. Maybe this affirmation in India that people still love Hulk Hogan will give WWE the green light they need to carry on with the process of putting Hogan’s name back in the WWE landscape where it belongs.
