When Shelton Benjamin first announced that he would have to undergo surgery, it was believed that he would be making his return to WWE once he recovered, but his return seems to be far from a sure thing at this point. Benjamin recently confirmed that he’s cleared to wrestle again, and he also confirmed that he never signed a deal with WWE.
Shelton Benjamin posted the following:
Although Shelton Benjamin isn’t currently signed to a WWE contract, now that he’s healthy that could change. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope we get to see Shelton Benjamin return to WWE sooner than later.
After several years of playing second fiddle to Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper is no longer a member of The Wyatt Family and he seems to be enjoying the freedom.
Harper recently spoke to The Courier-Journal to promote this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, and he noted that breaking away from The Wyatt Family wasn’t hard for him at all.
“It wasn’t for me. I’ve been wanting to get out and do my own thing even within the Wyatt Family since I arrived. Again, that’s part of the always-want-more disease. … The time had just kind of come and we all felt it. It was a blast but it’s fun as hell to be out on my own.”
Since breaking away from The Wyatt Family, Luke Harper has been finding his own identity, but it sounds like he’s still unsure of where his character will go from here.
“That’s the fun and stressful and terrifying part about this time of my career; who knows where it goes? It could go way up or way down and it’s kind of up to me to decide where it goes. I’m just trying to make myself the best professional wrestler that I can and I know that sounds cliche, but that’s kind of the point, is to do the best you can and it’s on them to use that.”
