A few weeks ago when he was a guest on Chris Jericho’s podcast, Sheamus said that during their feud in 2009, Shelton Benjamin continuously called him a rookie.
“I’ve got no problem with Shelton, he’s an amazing athlete. But every time we were sitting down he was calling me rookie. I don’t know what it was. I’d never been anything but nice to him and I just wanted to make the feud good,” Sheamus said during the interview.
Sheamus then went on to talk about how shortly after that he was moved to Raw and defeated John Cena for the WWE Championship.
Shelton Benjamin took to Twitter to offer a sincere apology but also mentioned that he didn’t recall any instance where he called Sheamus a rookie. See what he had to say below:
@WWESheamus if in fact I offended u by repeatedly calling rookie, please accept my sincerest apology. But I personally don't recall 1x
