WrestleMania is the Grandest Stage of Them All and this year’s big event was extra special as it was the first WWE event in over a year to have fans in attendance. Drew McIntyre was defeated by Bobby Lashley at the Show of Shows while Sheamus defeated Riddle to win the United States Championship.
On the road to WrestleMania 37 fans saw Sheamus turn on his friend Drew McIntyre, and their heated feud culminated with a match at the Fastlane pay-per-view.
However, during a recent appearance on BT Sport’s What Went Down series Sheamus revealed that both he and McIntyre fought to convince WWE officials to let their feud play out at Mania.
“We really were hoping this was gonna be WrestleMania. That’s where we felt the feud should basically climax, should come to an end at WrestleMania, and I fought as hard as I could, we both did, to make that happen, but you do what you can do, you know. Make it the best way you can.”
Do you think WWE should have saved Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre for WrestleMania? Sound off in the comments below.
