The Last Time Is Now Tournament continued this week on Friday Night SmackDown and Jey Uso faced off against Rusev in the opening match, and it was Jey Uso who picked up the win.
A few weeks ago Sheamus picked up a win over Shinsuke Nakamura in a first round match, but it was announced last week that The Celtic Warrior had been pulled from the tournament due to injury.
During this week’s episode of SmackDown, The Miz was backstage with Nick Aldis as the SmackDown General Manager was drawing names to replace Sheamus in The Last Time Is Now Tournament. Aldis drew a name and opened up the ball, but The Miz interrupted him before he looked at the name.
R-Truth entered the room with a pair of balls and The Miz switched out the name in the ball Nick Aldis was holding while Aldis was distracted by Truth. Aldis then unveiled the replacement for Sheamus which turned out to be The Miz.
Later in the show LA Knight managed to pick up the win over The Miz to advance in the tournament. Knight will now go on to face Jey Uso next week on SmackDown.
