Over the last few years WWE has brought in some big names to hold their top titles while working a part-time schedule.
Fans weren’t exactly thrilled when Bill Goldberg defeated The Fiend at Super ShowDown to become the new Universal Champion, and former WWE Champion Sheamus recently explained while speaking with the media in Ireland why he’s not a fan of part-time champions.
“I’m always skeptical about champions who just pop up once in a blue moon, like once every six months, or once every year. I think it’s important to have your champion on every week, that’s how I grew up watching WWE that’s how I see it.”
Sheamus went on to say that the match he’s really looking forward to at WrestleMania 36 is Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McIntyre.
“There’s a lot of mixed reactions about Goldberg and Roman at Mania. But honestly the match I’m really looking forward to is Brock (Lesnar) and Drew (McIntyre). I’m really feeling the Brock and Drew match.”
