The National in the UAE has an interview with Sheamus, who is in Dubai doing promotional work for WWE. During the interview, Sheamus discussed the rumors of him playing Darth Vader in the next Star Wars movie.
“That was crazy,” he said. “Basically I went home to Ireland and the crew were filming quite close to me at the time, then all these mad rumours started flying around. I definitely haven’t received a contract, a helmet or a lightsaber yet, but who knows? It might come through the door. I hope it does.”
While Sheamus won’t be playing the iconic character, he did admit to dressing up as Darth Vader for a promotion with Kellog’s when Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace was released in 1999.
“We went to Dublin, Manchester and London and recreated a few scenes from the first three movies with me and a couple of storm troopers and a Death Star backdrop,” Sheamus recalled. “I’d love to look back at it and see how bad I was!”
