WWE Hall of Fame legend Shawn Michaels recently appeared on Jim Ross’ podcast The Ross Report to discuss a handful of topics about his return to WWE after his long hiatus after WrestleMania 14.
Shawn had the following to say about his match with Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 22:
“I just felt like having a WrestleMania where I wasn’t sort of expected to go out there and tear the house down,” said Michaels, “I just wanted to have one where it was just sort of relaxing and fun.”
When asked about working a program with The Rock, Michaels told Ross that The Rock simply wasn’t interested.
“I can remember many, many years ago, as I came back,” Michaels said, “Pat Patterson asked about that and I said, ‘Sure, whoever you want.’ But he wasn’t interested, and that was it. But I liked anybody that I hadn’t been in the ring with.”
