This week’s episode of NXT was the special CW premiere for the show, and it aired live from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, IL. The fans in Chicago were fired up as WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels kicked off the show.
The Heartbreak Kid told the fans that they can’t have a new NXT, on a new network, without new championship titles. Michaels then unveiled new versions of the NXT Championship and NXT Women’s Championship which were positioned on a podium in the middle of the ring.
Shawn Michaels told the fans that he just had one question for them then he paused. Triple H appeared out of nowhere and asked “are you ready?” Triple H and HBK fired up the crowd as they asked once again “are you ready?”
After the belts were introduced Giulia made her entrance. Roxanne Perez went on to defend her NXT Women’s Championship against Giulia in the first match of the night, and she retained the title after Cora Jade returned then attacked Giulia while the referee wasn’t looking.
