Recently WWE filed to trademark “Iron Survivor Challenge” and the wrestling world has been buzzing about a new type of match which was officially confirmed on NXT this week.
Shawn Michaels announced that two Iron Survivor Challenge matches will take place at NXT Deadline. One match will be for the women, and one match will be for the men, and the winners get a shot at their respective world title in NXT.
According to Michaels the matches will last 25 minutes each and 5 Superstars will compete in each match. Two Superstars will start the match and every five minutes a new Superstar will enter. The way to win the match is to score the most falls by the end of it. Falls can be scored by pin, submission or DQ.
When a Superstar wins a fall they will earn a point, but when a Superstar loses a fall they will be put into a penalty box for 90 seconds. The Superstar with the most falls at the end will become the number one contender.
