WrestleMania 33 is right around the corner and for months now fans have assumed that they would be seeing Big Show take on Shaq at the big event. However, Big Show recently indicated that he believes Shaq is backing out of the match, and although he didn’t specifically say that he is backing out, Shaq recently confirmed that the bout probably won’t happen.
During a recent episode of his show, The Big Podcast with Shaq, he revealed that he doesn’t think it’s going to happen, and he also said that it’s not his fault.
“It’s not going to happen? That’s probably right. It’s not my fault, that’s all you need to know. It ain’t my fault. Oh, it ain’t my fault. It don’t matter what they say. It has nothing to do with the Diesel and his management. That’s what I got to say, but, it’s not totally off yet, but it’s not looking good. But it doesn’t matter, I’m still working out and I still look better than Big Show. I’ll still meet him wherever he wants to meet me. These next thirty days, I’m about to go hard. I’m still doing it like it’s going down.”
Big Show has been training hard for a WrestleMania match with Shaq and in the process he has lost a significant amount of weight and he’s currently in the best shape of his life. It will certainly be a shame if Big Show doesn’t get the high profile match that he wants at WrestleMania, but on the bright side, if Shaq backs out it will leave Show free to face Braun Strowman again.
As for Shaq, he says he’s getting in shape just in case the match still ends up on the card, but the lack of promotion on his part also seems to indicate that the match is unlikely at this point.
