The night after WrestleMania 32 Shane McMahon took over on Monday nights and he’s been running Raw ever since. Stephanie McMahon recently returned to try and end Shane’s run as the showrunner of Raw, and Vince told her that he would be making a decision at Payback.
Before the main event Vince McMahon made his way to the ring and the crowd greeted him with “CM Punk!” chants. Vince played up the chants and tried to tire out the crowd as Stephanie made her way to the ring. Stephanie explained why she should run the show and then Shane interrupted. Shane gave his reasons for why he should run the show and the crowd was completely behind him as they cheered him on.
Vince McMahon told his kids that he’s made a decision and they will both be running Monday Night Raw together. He told them they have to work as a team to run the show and he told them to figure it out. Vince then left the ring and Shane extended his hand to Stephanie. The siblings shook hands and then exited the ring.
