It’s been almost two years since Shane McMahon shocked the world and returned to WWE, and he’s remained a fan favorite ever since he returned and challenged The Undertaker at WrestleMania.
Shane has been in charge of SmackDown Live ever since the brand split was reinstated in the summer of 2016, and he’s been working side by side with General Manager Daniel Bryan.
Bryan and Shane tend to get along pretty well, but recently there’s been tension between the two authority figures, and it seems that a heel turn is being teased.
Shane McMahon has competed in big matches at WrestleMania for the past two years facing off against The Undertaker and AJ Styles, so it’s no surprise that WWE has big plans for Shane this year.
CageSideSeats notes (via WrestleVotes) that Shane McMahon is currently penciled in for a “major match” at WrestleMania 34. The match is expected to be part of Shane McMahon’s feud with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, but at this point it’s not known exactly who the opponent will be, or if Shane will end up working with a partner.
Shane McMahon is normally featured in a decent spot on WWE’s big pay-per-views so it sounds like we can expect more of the same at WrestleMania 34.
Last year there were plenty of people who had their doubts about Shane McMahon vs. AJ Styles, but most people agree that the match exceeded expectations, so hopefully we’ll be getting another decent match from Shane this year.
When is this gonna stop?
Partner with Ziggler? Two loose ends tied up.
