Last night after Raw Shane McMahon joined Mick Foley for a “tell all” podcast on the WWE Network. Shane talked about his time away from WWE and at one point he opened up about why he left the company. According to Shane his father Vince wasn’t open to his ideas and it started to create personal problems between the two of them so he stepped away.
“I think with any parent and child relationship, it’s tough especially with the older guard allowing the newer guard to flesh ideas out and try them because they’re so guarded against it. It stopped being a collaboration and it stopped being fun. When that happened, the WWE defines my father, and I wasn’t going to allow a deteriorating business relationship to affect our personal lives, and that’s exactly what was happened. So I decided, I’m not going to do this, I love him too much and I decided to leave.”
