Shane McMahon is the talk of the wrestling world right now as a photo of him meeting with Tony Khan earlier this week has been making the rounds on social media. It’s not clear at this point in time if Shane McMahon could end up working with AEW, but he did recently issue a statement addressing his meeting with Tony Khan.
Dave Meltzer recently talked about Shane McMahon potentially returning to wrestling on Wrestling Observer Radio, and he claimed that Shane McMahon attempted to return to WWE. However, it’s being said that the people in charge aren’t interested in bringing him back.
“I know that Shane McMahon has looked to get back in WWE. I know that the people in charge of WWE have no interest in him. Could that change with the idea that he’d be willing to go to AEW? Maybe, maybe not? Would he really be willing to go to AEW? I don’t know where his mind is.
“…Shane got a lot, a lot of money. If you compare the amount of money Shane got for the amount of work he did when he was an active few times a year pro wrestler it was a really high number.”
Meltzer went on to say that he’s not sure if Shane’s meeting with Tony Khan was meant to be used as leverage, but noted that there’s a lot of negativity, and it’s not like before when he was away from the company and WWE was trying to get him back.
