Shane McMahon Reportedly Had A Conversation With Top Star About AEW

It was a big weekend for the stars of AEW as the annual Forbidden Door pay-per-view aired live. Mercedes Mone ended up picking up a big win and she walked away with the TBS Championship and NJPW Strong Women’s Champion. Mone also ran into an interesting name following the show.

PWInsider is reporting that Mercedes Mone and Shane McMahon were spotted at Laguardia Airport in New York City this morning and the two were seen talking on the way to their respective flights. According to the report it’s been confirmed that the two had a conversation about AEW.

It was noted that Shane McMahon lives in the New York City area, but he was not backstage at the AEW Forbidden Door pay-per-view over the weekend.

Tony Khan recently discussed the idea of Shane McMahon possibly appearing in AEW and he indicated the door is open when he said, “I heard the rumor he might be interested. I’ve never met Shane, but we have a lot of mutual friends. I have a lot of respect for him as an executive and a professional wrestler. Shane is always welcome in AEW.”
