Shane McMahon has become a very hot topic recently as he met with Tony Khan earlier this week and a photo of the meeting surfaced online. The meeting has led to a lot of speculation regarding what the future could hold as Shane is not currently signed to any type of deal with WWE.
Bully Ray posted a tweet noting that he had spoken to Shane McMahon on the phone, and he read the following quote from Shane when he discussed the conversation on Busted Open After Dark:
“Tony and I were connected through a mutual friend and we had a great meeting. We talked about many things, but mostly about our shared love for the business and the rewards and challenges of working with family. I congratulated him on the five year anniversary of AEW and look forward to how he evolves the business moving forward.”
Tony Khan has previously said that Shane McMahon is welcome in AEW. Fightful Select is reporting that during their meeting Shane McMahon and Tony Khan discussed “possibilities moving forward.” However, it’s not clear at this point in time if Shane and AEW will end up working together at some point in the future.
