Next week’s episode of SmackDown Live is set to take place from Manchester, England, and it will feature a big WWE Championship match. SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon has announced that due to the beating that Jinder Mahal and The Singh Brothers delivered to AJ Styles this week, he’s granting The Phenomenal One a title shot.
This title match obviously has huge Survivor Series implications, because if AJ Styles does manage to win he could potentially go on to face Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at the pay-per-view.
AJ Styles was originally set to face off against Rusev next week on SmackDown Live with the winner joining the men’s Survivor Series team. No word yet on if that match is still taking place.
Jinder Mahal vs. AJ Styles won’t be the only championship match on the show, as The Usos are also set to defend their SmackDown Tag Team Titles against Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin.
