The past few weeks have been pretty crazy for Sexy Star. She defended the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship against Rosemary, Lady Shani and Ayako Hamada at AAA Triplemania on August 26, and the match changed her entire career.
After the match it was reported that Sexy Star was “shooting” during the match, and that she legitimately injured Rosemary when she popped her arm out of place while applying an armbar. Rosemary later released a statement saying that the incident was not a work, and Star was pulled from WrestleCade, banned from Talk Is Jericho, stripped of the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship, and condemned by the professional wrestling community.
Star was recently interviewed by Pro Wrestling 24/7, and she said that she would never injure another wrestler on purpose.
“No, never. I’ve been in this sport for 11 years and I will be the first one to be against those type of things, so I [would] never do that.”
Sexy Star also said that there was no backstage confrontation in the locker room before the match.
“No. Nothing happened in the back in the locker rooms, we just did what we usually do. Also, Rosemary was not in the same locker room as mine, so I don’t know why they are saying that.”
Sexy Star recently released a lengthy statement explaining her side of the story in regards to what happened at Triplemania, and the statement can be read here.
