Several WWE Officials Against Putting Luke Harper In WWE Title Match At WrestleMania 33

Last week on SmackDown, the Battle Royal to determine the new No. 1 contender for Bray Wyatt’s WWE Championship ended in a draw between Luke Harper and AJ Styles. During this week’s show, both men will battle to settle the issue of who will face Wyatt at WrestleMania.

Luke Harper vs. AJ Styles has become an unpredictable situation because a lot of people believed that Styles would be facing Shane McMahon at WrestleMania. However, the bigger question is if Harper is ready for a WWE Title match against Bray Wyatt on the grandest stage of them all.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that many WWE officials are against the idea of Luke Harper becoming the No. 1 Contender to face Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania. When the report says “many WWE officials,” that means most of them are strongly against the idea.

Those in favor of Luke Harper joining the WWE Title match feel a win over AJ Styles would bring him legitimacy as a main event talent. The expectation is Randy Orton will turn on Bray Wyatt to force their WrestleMania match, so Harper would be added to make it a Triple Threat match.
